We are partnering with Catholic Charities Dallas to bring the Mobile Community Pantry
to St. Michael Catholic Church on a regular basis in order to serve those most vulnerable in our parish area. Service dates and times will be the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of every month from 12:00n to 3:00pm.
Site Coordinator: promote event, collaborate with partner agencies for client referalls. Assist the driver with distirbution, supervise volunteers, recruit, coordinate logistics and serve as primary contact.
Site Coordinator Assistant: serve as back-up for coordinator and assist in management and promotion of mobile pantry day.
Greeter and Line Monitors: observe registration and distribution lines to ensure orderliness. Welcome and comfort clients.
Registration/Sign-In: capture client information, signatures, and household information using an iPad.
Shopper Helper: assist elderly or physically challenged clients by carrying boxed products or bags.
Un-loader: coordinate with driver to unload and re-load products from the truck. Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
Parking Lot Attendants: direct traffic and clients to assigned parking areas.
Packer/sorter: sort, examine, and pack food to ensure freshness and readiness for distribution.
Hands-on training sessions will be offered soon; stay tuned for dates and times. As with all volunteers at St. Michael, you must be cleared through the Safe Environment program.
