Sacrament of Matrimony
For Catholics, the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony, or Marriage, is a public sign that one gives oneself totally to this other person. It is also a public statement about God: the loving union of husband and wife speaks of family values and also God's values.

Marriage
Marriage is a covenant that is a sacred sacrament with great religious importance. Through this sacrament, God is intimately involved in the union of marriage and it is God that provides the graces necessary to deal with the problems and struggles of a marriage.
Taken from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
1660 The marriage covenant, by which a man and a woman form with each other an intimate communion of life and love, has been founded and endowed with its own special laws by the Creator. By its very nature it is ordered to the good of the couple, as well as to the generation and education of children. Christ the Lord raised marriage between the baptized to the dignity of a sacrament (cf. CIC, can. 1055 § 1; cf. GS 48 § 1).
Couples preparing for the Sacrament of Marriage should contact the Pastoral Assistant at 972.542.4667 x 102 six months prior to their desired wedding date. Please plan on accomplishing the following:- Meet with the priest
- Complete the pre-nuptial questionnaire
- Attend marriage preparation
- Provided Baptismal, First Holy Communion and Confirmation certificates
Convalidation: Catholics previously married in other religious traditions or by civil officials may apply for convalidation. Please contact the Pastoral Assistant to start this process.
